The former deputy assistant secretary of African Affairs at the US Department has told Zimbabwean politicians that paying lobbyists and PR firms to lobby the American government to soften it’s stance on the country was a waste of money and counterproductive.
This comes after reports that Thokozani Khupe was supposed to go to America as the leader of the opposition to meet with delegates in Washington over re-engagement.
The Supreme Court then declared Nelson Chamisa an illegitimate MDC T leader which resulted in Mwonzora subsequently becoming the new MDC-T leader.
Moss went on to say that during Donald Trump there was a chance of the lobbyists appealing to Trump directly but the same method will not work with the new US president Joe Biden.
He added that ‘buying’ foreign ministry lobbyists to promote a meeting with false front opposition leaders was also counterproductive.
