Zimbabwe government bans transportation of dead bodies during lockdown
Government locks down city to city burial for dead bodies
The government through the Ministry of Health and Child Care has, with immediate effect, instructed the police to implement the newly introduced restriction for the movement of dead bodies for burial in the country.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police issued a statement which reveals that the health officials have stipulated that a dead will now be buried where the death would have taken place.
According to the ZRP statement, this comes as a way to mitigate the spread of the novel covid-19, following a spike in the number of positive cases and deaths in the last few days.
This led to the imposition of fresh lockdown that will run for 30-days.
