Nigeria Amnesty Program Is A Failure


An amnesty program for militants in Nigeria’s restive Niger Delta has been slammed for being marred by corruption and too expensive to maintain.

A report finds that despite spending $630 million between 2010 and 2014 alone, the Presidential Amnesty Program has failed to stop violence in the region. The program was supposed to help disarm and reintegrate armed militant groups.
