The Ugandan Presidential campaigns have kicked off with 11 candidates traversing various parts of the country in search of votes ahead of the 14th January 2021 elections amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
National Unity Platform party candidate Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Alias Bobi Wine started his campaign by going to the West Nile District of Arua where he survived death two years ago and lost his driver Yasin Kawuma who was short in his car. He said that they are going to strengthen their supporters who were mistreated by security agencies during his last visit.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni kicked off his campaign in Buganda Kingdom with a live broadcast on all radios and television stations. The physical campaign starts in Luweero District where he started the guerilla war that brought him to power in 1986.
However, the Uganda Police has said that no candidate will be allowed to break any laws that have been put up by the authorities. The Spokesperson Fred Enanga revealed that the Electoral Commission has given them power to inspect all venues and give permission to candidates to use them.
Former FDC Presidential aspirant Dr. Kizza Besigye warned all opposition candidates that they should be ready to be arrested, tortured and imprisoned by Museveni’s security agencies because that’s what he has always done over the years and isn’t ready to surrender power to another person.
