Uganda Cranes head coach Jonathan Mckinstry has as promised named seven local-based players and thus completed his 27-man squad for Uganda’s Africa cup of nations’ qualifier double-header against South Sudan.
The seven; Brian Aheebwa, Charles Lukwago, Halid Lwaliwa, Disan Galiwango, Shafiq Kagimu, Karim Watambala, and Patrick Mbowa were selected after a weeklong camp in Kampala.
These join the 20 professionals summoned earlier for the Africa cup of nations’ double-header against South Sudan.
Uganda hosts this group B matchday three on 12 November at St.Mary’s stadium before the return four days later in Kenya because South Sudan national stadium is undergoing renovation.
Uganda on four points seeks maximum points to confirm its status as the top-ranked team in the group that also has Burkina Faso and Malawi.
The 20 professionals are; Denis Onyango (Mamelodi Sundowns), Magnolia Salim Jamal (Al Hilal Omdurman), Ochaya Joseph (TP Mazembe), Kakuba Alex (C.D Cova da Piedade), Wadada Nicholas (Azam), Bwomono Elvis (Southend United), Mukiibi Ronald (Ostersunds FK), Awanyi Timothy and Fahad Bayo (SC Ironi Ashdod), Azira Michael (Chicago Fire), Kizito Luwagga (Hapoel), Miya Farouk (Konyaspor), Okwi Emmanuel (Ittihad Alexandria), Nsibambi Derrick (Smouha), Kyambadde Allan (El Gouna FC), Okello Allan (Paradou), Lubega Edrisa (Paide Linnameeskond), Ikpeazu Uche (Wycombe Wanderers), Alexis Bakka (Umea FC) and Khalid Aucho.
Afcon 2021 will be hosted by Cameroon.
