Patrick Oboi Amuriat(POA) has become the latest Presidential candidate to be nominated ahead of Uganda’s general election next year.
The forum for democratic change(FDC) party candidate however arrived and left livid at the nomination center at Kyambogo University because of circumstances that preceded his nomination.
“I was kidnapped by security forces, bundled into a saloon vehicle, and brutalized. I carry a lot of bruises and feel body pain” said POA.
“I come here without shoes, not because of choice but this shows the kind of dictatorship we are up against. So get ready for injustices between now and February next year but be sure one day, all this will be history” he added.
POA says his campaign will be run on defiance mode but with target of a ‘new Uganda’ equipped with health, education, and economic service delivery kits to reduce poverty in a country he says “90% continue to suffer due to ills by a few minority yet dominant group”.
POA is one of 11 Ugandans that showed intention to stand for President in 2021.
By the time of this report, seven had been duly nominated.
