It’s been a week of crisis for Confederation of African Football President Ahmad Ahmad as he is again in the news for contracting COVID-19 days after he attended Sunday’s Confederation Cup Final in Morocco.
Recall that Ahmad is facing a ban from FIFA after it was discovered he had breached CAF’s codes of Ethics in a deal attache Loic German.
In a CAF statement released, Ahmad showed mild flu symptoms after his arrival in Cairo on Wednesday.
” Today the test results are positive. The president must immediately self- isolate for at least the next 14 days at his hotel”.
” All those who have come into contact with Ahmad over the past seven days especially during his trip to Morocco for the confederation cup have been informed and requested to take necessary measures”.
Ahmad who announced his intention to run for a second term as CAF’s president could see his chances ruled out as he may be prevented from contesting the election.
