According to Colonel Musa, “The exercises are meant to combat cybercrimes, that involves hacking websites and accounts, tracking and countering of social media propaganda. Also, he said, the exercise also includes identification of Boko Haram hideout in the North East and North West, fighting Banditry and kidnapping”.

This exercise has been criticized before by the Human Rights Activist and Lawyer, Femi Falami SAN, that the exercise is a violation of human right, that will create fear and tension among Nigerians.

This exercise has created mixed reactions among Nigerian as they see this to be a threat to the ongoing #EndSARS protest. Therefore, they call on the federal government to put an end to the exercise.

But the Army has explained it, that the operation is an independent exercise and has nothing to do with the ongoing protest in the country.
