The Vice President of Nigeria, Prof YemiOsinbajo apologized to the youth of Nigeria over the lack of seriousness to address issues bothering the nations on time.
He made this know yesterday that, “We should have addressed most of these things when we should have, but our long silent have caused all this and we hope to make it right”.
Osinbajo said this amidst Nigerian Youth holding a candlelight vigil last night in honor of all those who died as a result of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), and police brutality.
The Nigerian Youth still stand in protest that; they won’t back down until their demands are met amidst other demands.
Aside from the #EndSARS demand, they feel the government has been reluctant in addressing other key issues that are affecting the livelihood of Nigerians. Some of the issues are the high rate of unemployment, insecurity, poor power supplies, ASUU Strike, bad road infrastructures, Inflation among other things.
Osinbajo said “I fully understand how you all feel. That we have been too silent and have simply not done as expected. These feelings of frustration are justified”.
There are reactions from leaders concerning the protest, they see the protest to go beyond #EndSARS as there is the fear for the protest to turn into a revolution.
