Iyan Zazzau, Alhaji Bashir Aminu has taken Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufai to court over the illegal appointment of the New Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed NuhuBamali. The Governor appointed Bamali to succeed the late Emir, Alhaji Shehu Idris who died on September, 20.
Alhaji Aminu, in his suit, is seeking the court to declare him the Emir haven scored the highest scores when the vote was cast by the kingmakers. Therefore, he has acquired the right to the stool of the Emir of Zazzau.
Based on the recommendations of the five emirates kingmakers led by Wazirin Zazzau, Alhaji Ibrahim Aminu for the second time. The result as of September 25, 2020, showed that Iyan Zazzau, Alhaji Bashir Aminu scored 89, Yariman Zazzau, Alhaji MunirJafaru had 87, followed by TurakinKaramin Zazzau, Alhaji AminuShehu Idris with 53 marks.
All the candidates were said to be selected based on the applications received by the kingmakers from 11 princes of the four ruling houses of the emirate to succeed the late emir. The recommendation was said to be rejected by the Governor on October 1 saying, there were irregularities of exempting the other two qualified aspirants for the stool.
From the request of the governor to include those aspirant. This led to the emergence of Alhaji Ahmad NuhuBamali.
