The People’s Democratic Party, Publicity Secretary Kola Ologbondiyanis calling on the presidency to replicate what it did at the just concluded Edo governorship election in the coming Ondo governorship electon. People never expected that the Edo governorship election will not only be violence free, but free and fair. This came with surprise as the Presidency refused the use of ‘federal-might’ to influence the outcome of the election. The people of Ondo are not left out as campaign is coming to an end, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is preparing for the October 10, 2020 poll.
Most political analyst are asking if the incumbent government will be willing to allow the votes of the people count. This is due to the nature of politicking where majority government is considered. Today, APC controls 19 states, PDP 16 and APGA 1. Ondo governorship Election will become a battle ground as it will serve as a determinant if this APC-led government will be willing to share its government equally with the opposition Parties.
However, as the People Democratic Party (PDP) prepare for its grand finale to end its campaign on Wednesday October 7, 2020 at Ondo Town, Ondo West LGA, the Publicity Secretary of the party Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan urged President Muhammadu Buhari not to succumb to pressure from the All Progressive Congress and Governor RotimiAkeredolu to rig the October 10governorship election. This will prove what Mr President said during the Independence Day Speech, “the just concluded Edo governorship election marks my commitment to ensure a free and fair electoral processes, where the vote of the people count”.
He, “There is plot to use violence and ‘federal-might’ to muscle the election against the wishes and aspirations of the people of Ondo State”.
He Said, “It is not Jegede’s fault that Governor Akeredolu failed as a governor, and that the people identified Jegede as someone they can rely on and who can meet with their demands”.
Furthermore, that “if Governor Akeredolu had done well in his last four years, he will have no fair in the forthcoming election, but if he fails, he should not blame anybody for his failure”.
“Our campaign today is to call on the President, to prove to the world who he calmed to be and ensure that we have a free, fair, and credible election coming October 10, 2020. This will serve as a legacy of electoral uprightness for which posterity and history will have in recorded.
